The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Gharyan is organising a scientific symposium to mark World AIDS Day on Monday, 1 December 2025, at 10 a.m. in the faculty's conference hall.

Among the activities commemorating World AIDS Day is a lecture by Dr. Abdul Nabi Al-Rais entitled "AIDS: Definition, Early Diagnosis and Treatment," in which he will discuss the latest concepts about the nature of the disease and the importance of early detection in improving treatment opportunities, in addition to reviewing internationally approved treatment guidelines.

▪︎Head of several national scientific committees for infectious diseases

▪︎Author of more than 80 research papers published locally and internationally

▪︎Author of 5 medical chapters in Brazilian books

▪︎Supervisor of 14 postgraduate research papers

▪︎Currently retired.
