Signing of a scientific cooperation agreement

On Monday, 12 January 2026, a scientific and academic cooperation agreement was signed between the Faculty of Medicine and the National Institute for Oncology Treatment – Gharyan, in the presence of representatives of both parties from academic and medical leadership, in an official ceremony held at the Faculty of Medicine in Gharyan.

The agreement provides for the establishment of frameworks for research and educational cooperation between the two sides, including:

• Coordinating clinical training and scientific research programmes for medical school students and faculty members within the institute.

• Organising workshops and specialised lectures in the fields of cancer diagnosis and treatment, and enabling the academic side to benefit from the practical experience of the centre and the faculty.

• Encouraging joint research projects aimed at developing scientific knowledge of cancer and its treatment, and publishing the results in peer-reviewed scientific journals.

This cooperation comes within the framework of strengthening the links between medical education and practical application in the field of oncology, which contributes to improving the quality of training and qualification of doctors and researchers, and supports the institute's efforts to develop its therapeutic and research services, as well as providing training opportunities for students in advanced years, internship doctors, and continuing medical education.
