The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Gharyan organises the first forum for internship doctors
The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Gharyan organised the first forum for internship doctors, the 18th cohort, on Monday 29 June 2026. The event was attended by a number of academic staff, supervising doctors, the Dean of the Faculty, the Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs, the Head of the Studies and Examinations Department, the Faculty Registrar, the Director of the Office of Graduate and Internship Affairs, and the internship doctors. The aim was to strengthen academic and professional communication, and to discuss the key challenges facing the internship phase, as well as ways to develop clinical training to help improve graduates’ competence.
The forum included a presentation by the Dean of the Faculty on the key subjects in the supplementary training (internship) curriculum, and a panel discussion addressing medical practice skills, professional ethics, and training mechanisms within healthcare institutions, as well as an open discussion with the interns to answer their queries and listen to their suggestions.
The forum’s organisers emphasised the importance of continuing such events, given their role in supporting medical education and preparing doctors capable of providing high-quality healthcare and serving the community.
