Sponsored by Al-Alama Company (the agent for the French firm Setol Nat) and in collaboration with the Derma Organisation, the Scientific Day for Skin Cancer Awareness was held today, Thursday 7 May 2026, which takes place every May. This scientific day was organised in recognition of the importance of early detection of skin tumours and raising awareness of risk factors and early clinical signs, given their pivotal role in improving the chances of early diagnosis and selecting the appropriate treatment.

The event saw the distinguished participation of a number of consultants and specialist doctors in the fields of dermatology, plastic surgery and radiotherapy at Tripoli Central Hospital. 

The event aimed to present an integrated scientific perspective on early diagnosis, clinical assessment, modern imaging techniques, and therapeutic and surgical interventions related to skin tumours.

The scientific programme included specialist lectures and fruitful academic discussions that emphasised the importance of multidisciplinary work in improving diagnostic and treatment outcomes, and in raising community awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection.

The organisation of this scientific day underscores the academic and community role of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Gharyan in disseminating health knowledge and advancing evidence-based medical practice.
